Today I’ve been to Linuxdays, a yearly Linux and open source related event that took place here in Geneva. I had the opportunity to meet some really cool people from Debian, Canonical, Sun Oracle, and Linalis, a local open source consultancy firm. It’s been a nice opportunity to stretch ties with the local open source community.
One of the most interesting outcomes of the open source success now is that it’s not just Linux anymore, with OpenSolaris also playing a mayor role in the game. I just hope they get to liberate the source code for the compiler so it can rise to the state of openness of Linux and the *BSD systems.
